Purchasing a license for Knowledgebase Manager Pro allows you to install a single production copy of the product on a single web server. An unlimited number of readers can browse your knowledge base, however only the number of user accounts you purchase can login to the user area and see restricted content. Each license supports certain number of staff accounts. Some licenses also support client accounts.

Staff users (one may also call them Editors, Authors, or Admins) are able to login to front-end and back-end. Their ability to access, create, and edit certain articles, categories, and use KB functions depends on their access permissions.

Client users are read-only users who can login to the front-end only. They cannot create or edit content. They can access certain restricted and public content if permitted.

Unlimited publications of knowledge base allowed on unlimited web servers owned by licensee. Product purchase includes 6-months free support and free updates period. You can purchase an extension of support and updates period for additional fee.

You will be pleased to know that you can upgrade KnowledgeBase Manager Pro license at any time. The upgrade process is very simple, and all your data is preserved. Upgrades include 1 months of software maintenance.

If your organization has started with the license for the smaller amount of staff users of KnowledgeBase Manager Pro, perhaps you might want to upgrade as your needs grow.

As your business or needs grow, you might need to upgrade your license type. You pay the price difference between the advanced license type you need and the license you currently own plus 10 USD.

There are no license upgrade costs for hosted version.

Software maintenance (support & updates)

All licenses include 6 months of software maintenance (support and product updates). Beyond this initial 6 month period, you may renew your software maintenance for another 12 or 24 months at our discounted renewal prices.

Please note that software maintenance subscription is applied only to software packages that are installed on your server. If you’re using a hosted version, software maintenance is already included to the subscription.

Community licenses are designed for organisations which are:

  • secular

There are a few requirements for an Open Source license, the main ones being:

  • Publicly available project website
  • Using an approved open source license
  • Your KnowledgeBase Manager Pro instance will be publicly accessible

A KnowledgeBase Manger Pro commercial/academic license entitles you to:

  • Deploy a single instance of KnowledgeBase Manger Pro in a production environment on 1 server
  • Unlimited content, articles, categories, comments and public users
  • Perpetual KnowledgeBase Manager Pro use
  • Software maintenance for 6 months – including all updates and online support

License name defines the maximum number of user accounts that can be created to login and edit your knowledge base. However, there is no limit on the number of people who can view or browse your knowledge base.
