How to use drag'n'drop to upload files (using Gears)

This article applies to KMP versions from 5.4 to 6.0.2, if you're using v6.0.3 or higher, check the other article.

Attachments in KMP work like a desktop app. Drag and drop files from your desktop directly onto your KMP article to bulk-upload multiple files.

This ability is provided with usage of Gears plugin.

You can see the instructions for Gears plugin installation here.

Once Gears are installed, you can try to upload your first attachments using drag and drop facility.

Upload Documents Just by Dragging and Dropping Them

If you click on the "Add New" button while you're at the Attachments tab of an article edit window, you will see this window:

If provides you with more options for file upload:

  1. Upload Using Drag'n'Drop - the same method as described in the video above.
  2. Upload Choosing Multiple Files at Once - it looks like common files upload dialogue, but it allows you to select and upload multiple files at once.
  3. Upload Choosing Files One by One - Common upload dialogue, you can use it if Gears is not installed in your browser or not available.
