What’s New in Knowledge Base Manager Pro v5.4

(Released on October 29th, 2010)

Drag’n'Drop Files from your PC to the Knowledgebase!

Starting from the 5.4 version you can drag and drop documents, images, and other files from your desktop and local folders to Knowledgebase Manager Pro. This new facility has been implemented in different parts of the software that work with files upload. They are given below. All these features are supported in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome browsers. You just take a second to install Gears plugin which is designed by Google and free (Chrome has built-in support for Gears, so you do not need to install anything for it).

Upload Multiple Attachments at a Time

You can attach multiple files at a time via usual file selection dialogue.

Though, unlike standard "Browse…" window, where you can chose only one file, here you can select any number of files and they will be uploaded simultaneously.

Limitations on file size in PHP settings won’t longer bother you. You can upload files of any size, and as many at a time as you need. The same applies to files, images, and media that you upload by dragging-n-dropping.

Upload Progress

You can see upload progress for each file and for the whole download queue.

Upload Progress

If an error occurs during upload of a file, you would be notified about that. All other files will be uploaded without any notices.

Upload Failed

Hint tells you what exactly happened during upload and how you can resolve this. Usually this may be cause by limitation of file size and type set by knowledge base administrator.

Categories Now Can be Imported Too

Now when you import articles you can specify where you would like to put them.

Categories Import

Imported article will be automatically assigned to an existing category. New category with given name will be created automatically if it doesn’t exist.
