Drag’n'Drop Files from your PC to the Knowledgebase!
Starting from the 5.4 version you can drag and drop documents, images, and other files from your desktop and local folders to Knowledgebase Manager Pro. This new facility has been implemented in different parts of the software that work with files upload. They are given below. All these features are supported in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome browsers. You just take a second to install Gears plugin which is designed by Google and free (Chrome has built-in support for Gears, so you do not need to install anything for it).
Upload Documents Just by Dragging and Dropping Them
You can easily attach documents and virtually any files to articles using the drag and drop facility.
Watch the video to learn how it works.
Drag-and-Drop Images and Media Files from a Local Folder to Your Article
Knowledgebase Manager Pro lets you upload images, flash, and media files to the knowledge base and embed them to your articles. From now on you can upload images and media files simply by dragging them from a folder on your PC and dropping to the Media Manager.

Embed Image Just by Dropping it to Your Article
You can even drag and drop images directly to your article! Simply drag it from a local folder and drop to any place within your article and here you go – image is automatically uploaded to the web site and embedded to the article exactly next to your keyboard cursor.
Upload Multiple Attachments at a Time
You can attach multiple files at a time via usual file selection dialogue.
Though, unlike standard "Browse…" window, where you can chose only one file, here you can select any number of files and they will be uploaded simultaneously.
Limitations on file size in PHP settings won’t longer bother you. You can upload files of any size, and as many at a time as you need. The same applies to files, images, and media that you upload by dragging-n-dropping.
You can see upload progress for each file and for the whole download queue.
If an error occurs during upload of a file, you would be notified about that. All other files will be uploaded without any notices.
Hint tells you what exactly happened during upload and how you can resolve this. Usually this may be cause by limitation of file size and type set by knowledge base administrator.
Categories Now Can be Imported Too
Now when you import articles you can specify where you would like to put them.
Imported article will be automatically assigned to an existing category. New category with given name will be created automatically if it doesn’t exist.
Gather Additional Information with User Profile Fields
We have added a set of additional fields for a user profile that allow you to store more information about each user, like his phone number, address, company, and virtually any other personal info. Here is the list of new fields:
- Phone Number
- Instant Messenger
- Job Title
- Address 2
- Zip/Post Code
- Personal Info
You can set what fields are required and you can also set availability of each user profile field:
- Internal. Field is available in the back-end only. It is not shown in the front-end.
- User Profile. Field is used in My Account in both front-end and back-end.
- User Profile & Registration. Field is used in both My Account and Registration in front-end and back-end.
- Disabled. Field is not used at all.
Default value for each field can be specified.
Custom Return Email for Automated Emails
There is a new setting that allows you to specify return email address (shown in the From field) for automated messages that Knowledgebase Manager Pro sends.
Usually a "no-reply" email address is used here to avoid bounce emails.
Optional Logo Resizing
If you upload a large logo you may want to scale it to standard dimensions for better design.
Also you can upload logo via drag and drop facility now.
Several performance improvement measures have been taken. For instance, Article Edit/View window opens faster now.
Installation Wizard Improvement
Some improvements have been done to the installation wizard for better software installation experience.
Proxy Support for Updates
You can now use update wizard if Knowledgebase Manager Pro connects to the internet via proxy server.
