Knowledgebase Manager Pro Feature Development Roadmap

Meeting more than halfway with our current and prospective customers, we publish the roadmap of KnowledgeBase Manager Pro development progress with continuous updates, and current development status of each feature. This roadmap is a fixed by 90% plan of future releases and features that will form them.

In front of each feature you can see its current status: started – development in progress, completed – feature has been implemented, has status of beta-testing now, and will be included in the next KnowledgeBase Manager Pro release.

We always do our utmost sticking to charted plan; however we reserve the right to modify order and set of features for each release on the ground of capabilities, practicability, popularity and demands of our respective customers. Listed above risks may cause changes to release dates. You can trust by 90% to next release plan nevertheless.

Knowledgebase Manager Pro 5.3 (May, 2010)

  • Front-end only users (Clients) started Looking for your suggestions on this feature
    There will be two type of users and groups: Staff (current users) and Clients. Clients are read-only users that are able to login to front-end only and are not able to login to back-end. Client Groups have only profile access permissions (view/edit) and category access restrictions.

Knowledgebase Manager Pro 5.2.2 Minor Release (Released)

This planned maintenance update is dedicated to Knowledgebase Manager Pro stability and performance improvements, and resolving of all issues found since the previous release. No new features included.

Knowledgebase Manager Pro 5.2.1 Minor Release (Released)

This is a maintenance release that will include fixes and some completed and tested features:

  • Installation via XML API completed
    An XML based installation API that can be used by web hosting companies, partners or ISPs to perform remote installations. Based on XML-RPC standard.
  • Search in Subcategories Option completed
    Search in subcategories option will be added to both front-end and back-end advanced search. Will be enabled by default. This will lead to more accurate search results and fixes behavior when user selects one category only that contains subcategories by-turn and then expects to see results from these subcategories as well.
  • Permissions to Delete Statistics and Questions completed
  • Permission to Publish Articles (for Simple Workflow - Approval System) completed
    Usage scenario: There are two groups in KMP: Authors and Editors. Authors don’t have permission to publish articles, but can add articles. Articles they create are not public until Editors approve them. Editors have permission to publish articles.
  • Spell Check completed
    Spell check button will be added to WYSIWYG for clients that constantly asking us for spell checking option. :)
