Use these hints if you want to arrange your articles and  categories in certain order in the front-end.

Articles Ordering

You can sort all articles in a category by given attribute.  Follow these steps to do that.

  1. Go to "Customization" >  "Styling and Front-end Settings".
  2. Click on the "Category" tab.

  3. You can change sorting order of articles here  separately for:
    1. Articles in the tree on the left (this option is show only for Theme1 and custom themes based on it, because other themes doesn't have a category tree)
    2. Articles in the main page area on the right
  4. You can sort them by title, number of views,  rating, creation date, or last update date in ascending or descending order.

Set "featured" property to an article if you want  to see it at the very top of articles list.

This can be done when you edit an article.

You can also make article "featured" when you see  it in the grid.

If you would like to arrange articles in certain custom order, you can use alphabetical sorting as shown above along with custom articles naming as shown on the next screenshot:

Just add "a.", "b.", "c." or "01", "02", "03", etc. to article names, and they can be in any custom order.

Featured Articles

Please note that the "Move Featured Articles to Top" settings showed under "Sort Articles by" options on the first screenshot on this page also affect article ordering. If some of the articles that you wish to arrange in a desired order by using prefixes in article names (like  "a.", "b.", "c." or "01", "02", "03")  note that if those settings are enabled, featured articles will be on the top no matter what prefixes they have and what kind of sorting you're using.

Categories Ordering

Category tree in the front-end has the same order and  structure as in the back-end. You can drag-n-drop categories in the back-end to  arrange them in required order.

Info

It is not possible to have mixed order of articles and  categories currently. It means that you can't arrange them this way: "category,  article, category, article".
